Blue skies, sunshine and plane rides…it’s been a bustling week at Wimbledon!
The children have loved their trips out, this week we enjoyed adventures to the farm and the parks nearby. We also did some cooking and got ahead of pancake day by making our very own banana pancakes.
There has also been lots of painting and creating in the forest, using logs and old tyres as an aeroplane, and going on a trip to a yoga retreat! The children all had a ticket to hop onboard the aeroplane to go to a “yoga retreat” and once they landed were invited to a fun session of cosmic kids’ yoga. They listened to instructions and showed us their best yoga poses before heading off to enjoy some beautiful sunshine on the meadow. This was a great game for all our children to take part in and also brought up some great conversations about their own holidays.
We have also enjoyed lots of climbing and running around in this lovely weather. Seeing the forest shining in the bright sunshine has given us the chance to explore different areas and to see which new spots we can climb in. The children have shown us how amazing they are at testing new heights and seeing how well they can jump off.
We have also shown one of the ways we recycle at Wimbledon by making paper bricks. We used old, shredded paper and soaked it in water before pressing it down in a brick machine. The children loved being involved with the process and we watched as they formed their very own bricks.
Another fun filled week in the forest!
