We had another fantastic week in the forest! We have welcomed a new face who has settled into forest life brilliantly!
On the red team, we have enjoyed various adventure walks, visiting Grandma’s cottage as well as other different cottages (den’s) that we could find. We nicknamed them grandpa’s cottage too! Red team also found a monument in the forest, which is in memory of some of the soldiers that protected us a long time ago.
Red team also enjoyed doing some litter picking on an adventure walk, we took the opportunity to talk about the importance of keeping our environment clean and tidy, and the dangers of what our litter can do to wildlife. The children all took turns with the litter picker very nicely and they felt very proud coming back with a bag of rubbish.
On the green team, we started the week with an activity that involved bathing dinosaurs!
Green team also enjoyed some adventure walks, on one of them they visited the “dried up river” where we played in the dry gulf. The children role played frogs and tadpoles here, before carrying on their walk and finding a tree that had a treasure map on it! We played a game where we had to get to the treasure without disturbing the dinosaur who was guarding it!
We have also enjoyed playing musical bumps between the boundaries this week for both teams to enjoy in their groups.
This week we sadly say goodbye to Jessi! Jessi has had a huge impact on the children in her time in the forest with us. She is a valued team member and we are going to miss her. We wish Jessi all the best with the next step in her life.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
