It's been another glorious summer week in the forest!
Paradise started out in strong fashion and the children enjoyed all the familiar joys of the site; clay; bear hunts and stories. A rather fantastic organic little game that the children created was turning the mud kitchen into a restaurant, which they called the 'Tiger Cafe.' It was complete with menus, plates and yummy mud-based meals! Delicious!
We're very thankful that the site at Wimbledon Common has such a thick canopy of cover. It certainly kept the worst of this week's heat at bay, leaving the children to play in the blissful shade of the forest. We assembled a quaint gauntlet of obstacles for the children to try, complete with; stepping tiles, slack lines and rope bridges! It proved to be very popular!
Face painting was also a highly requested activity this week, from the children. Butterflies and rainbows it is!
We managed to tuck an adventure walk into Tuesday's plans, which was a pleasant lark amongst the trees. We came to a steep hill at one point and much like the Grand Old Duke of York, the children marched to the top of the hill and down again! Naturally, there was more blackberry picking and some children even found some excellent hiking sticks along the way.
We have had a very enjoyable and relaxed week in the forest and couldn't be happier to see the children continuing to have such fun. Have a great bank holiday weekend everyone!
