Wandsworth - Back in the forest

It has been such a joy to see wonderful little familiar faces this week in the forest. We have missed those smiles and brilliant imaginations and there has been lots of laughter bounding across both camps. The children have been so happy to see all of their friends. They settled in quickly once they had their hands on sticks and pine cones and listened to the peaceful sounds of the forest. We are amazed by the many ways in which they have all grown.

There has been lots of running around and release of physical energy, with the Green Group children rolling logs across camp and drawing trails in the leaves with their feet to run along. In the Red Group, we have been zipping up and down camp playing imaginative games, including one where a frog had to round up their ‘tadpoles’ into the ‘pond’... to little avail!

In the Red Group, the children have loved seeing familiar animals, including Mr Magpie and confident squirrels. We also found a rather large snail, which the children were fascinated by, and the children put them somewhere safe and checked on them throughout the day. The Green Group have taken several adventure walks where they ran up and down the Big Sunny Hill, visited Grandma’s cottage and pretended large fallen logs were rockets!

We’ve all had so much fun and can’t wait to see everybody next week. We hope the children have come home with lots of happy stories to tell!
