Wandsworth - A Typical British Summer!

This week we have welcomed back our typical English summer! We have experienced all of the elements this week, including an absolute wash out of a day on Tuesday! We used these as learning opportunities, we made mud mountains, and mud monsters to climb the mountain! We enjoyed stories under the tarps whilst listening to the rain above us and LOTS of splashing in muddy puddles!

Red team have been particularly interested in making some swords out of sticks for battle! Another thing the red team have enjoyed is making mud volcanoes and talking about what we would do if they erupted on us!

Red team also had a great time “panning for gold” using sieves and metal pans! No gold was found unfortunately but we did find some old English half pennies!

Red team also found some sticks and twigs and piled them up to make a “fire.”

Green team have enjoyed a walk to the heathland where we watched a queen bee collecting pollen from a flower! We stood back and watched as it took pollen from one flower to another.

Green team have shown a particular interest in doing some rope activities. One of these activities included using a tree to hoist up some sticks and twigs!

We also used ropes and sticks to create a ladder to the top of the tree!

Green team very much enjoyed making a river in the rain, which flowed through camp!

Also this week, we have welcomed some new faces to the forest, who all seem to be settling in well!
