Wandsworth - A forest poem

Our Week in the Forest...

We have had such a lovely week in the forest, so we thought we would create a poem to share all our adventures we have had!

As Monday began Paradise welcomed us in,
It didn’t take long for play to begin.
Some children were busy planting ‘seeds’ in the allotment,
While others fixed a road with mud kitchen cement.
We often have fires for children to behold,
Even on days when it’s not very cold.
Our children now know what makes fire live,
Oxygen, heat and food, the three things to give.
Tuesday’s highlight was a picnic by the lake,
While the children enjoyed listening to Michael Rosen’s ‘Chocolate Cake’.
We used tools to make buses, rockets and a car,
All things to travel in near and far.

Wednesday was different with a CPD group here to see,
Just how friendly and amazing your children can be.
They showed them round camp all the things there is to play,
How this is by far the best way to spend your day.
Thursday brought wind though that’s nothing new,
The educators had planned some great things to do.
We had bubbles and ribbons that danced in the breeze,
And watched as the wind rustled through all the trees.
We’ve made it to Friday, the weekend has come,
But don’t worry too much, next week’s also going to be fun.

Have a lovely weekend everybody!
