Twickenham - It's Our Birthday!

What a fantastic week it's been in the forest, filled with birthday celebrations, learning and creativity.

We celebrated our fifth anniversary at Twickenham! In true birthday fashion, we celebrated all week long! First we sang happy birthday and then we gobbled up a giant raspberry cake. We are so proud of all the children who have been with us along the way and truly grateful to the educators who keep this place going.

Dinosaurs have been a big hit this week! We spoke about when dinosaurs existed and how they became extinct. Children discussed what dinosaurs ate and how they would have to fight for their food. The imaginative play was something to witness, with “sand caves” and “giant trees” made for the dinosaurs to live in. They absolutely loved learning about these ancient creatures.

In the beginning of the week, Heatham House gifted us some beautiful flowers. Little forest footsteps crept around the trees as children handed the flowers to the ones they care about. Then they became a feature on the art table for drawing, crafting and painting, some children even made them into magic potions.

We said goodbye to one of our older children who will be making his way to big school in September. He has been such a delight to have in the forest, with his inquisitive nature and engaging conversations. We are so thankful to have had him in the forest. Goodbye and good luck for big school!

Enjoy your long weekend and we will see you all next week for more exploration and joy in the forest!
