Twickenham - Feathered Friends!

Hello Everyone!

Ahead of the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend we have spent this week talking all about our feathered friends and what better place to do this than surrounded by wildlife in the forest! Being able to see and hear a whole host of birds has kept the children entertained - the noisy woodpeckers have been the talk of the forest!

Over at the craft table we had a range of activities, from building nests out of clay, making and decorating homemade binoculars and even creating our very own bird feeders! The children also had great fun turning some crates and straw into nests for them all to sit in.

We ended our week with a special visit from the Grandad of one of our Little Forest Folk-ers Mr Nick, he is a keen bird watcher and talked about all our local birds as well as those all over the world, the children loved looking at the map and talking about where they had visited and what birds to look out for next time.

What a wonderful week in the forest, see you all soon!
