Putney Performances
This week has been filled with expression, role play, dancing, singing and creative activities and we have had the most wonderful time!
A highlight of our week must be our puppet show display. The children enjoyed choosing their favourite puppets to tell different stories to the educators in the forest. The children showed amazing confidence and expression whilst performing and they particularly enjoyed hiding behind the array of fabrics hanging up which acted as our theatre stage.
Some awesome role play unfolded here at Putney this week, including train journeys, superhero missions and our particular favourite; the fishmongers. With the support of an educator, the children created their own fishing rods with sticks and string and boarded their fishing boat ready for a tough day ahead at sea. They caught salmon, crabs, pufferfish, mackerel and many more interesting types of fish. Once they had anchored up, the children sold their fish at the market for a very reasonable price of £1 per fish. What a fantastic role play scenario that helped the children to understand the world further.
The children have also been showcasing their brilliant gross motor skills by challenging themselves to jump off high logs. They experimented with different ways to jump off and were great at taking turns and supporting one another.
Another fantastic week. We hope you all have a restful weekend, ready for more adventures next week :)
