Happy Friday to all! Today the forest was transformed into a wonderland of festivities for the Dragon Boat Festival. The trees were filled with vibrant decorations and the air was filled with the sounds of shaking tambourines and joyfully-played bongos. Our Little Forest Folk-ers excitedly pretended to paddle through the forest, setting sail on the sandy seas. “Row your boat” and “Eye, eye captain” they shouted as they embarked on their imaginary adventure.
After all that rowing, it was time for the children to replenish and ‘snack’ on a “leafy paper roll.” They collected a number of forest items that were crunched, wrapped and rolled up into little “bite size pieces.” Educators helped them to wrap them in wool and hang them from the forest trees.
Busy hands also worked away folding colourful paper into miniature dragon boats. The little boats became magical vessels, transforming their surroundings into an enchanting journey into the sunset.
Last but not least, Miranda continued to work with small groups to practice hammering and tool work. Our little explorers listened with focus and concentration before hammering small nails into a wooden block. They later brought the block to the craft table and weaved through some colourful wool.
What a wonderful week it’s been, we hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
