We have had such a wonderful week here at Putney Heath, welcoming some special parents onto camp to share our fun with us. We have had an amazing array of activities on camp this week, but here are just a few of our favourite ones.
At the beginning of the week, the children showed off their fantastic writing skills in our postcard activity. The children chose which postcard they wanted and began writing some messages to their loved ones. They then posted their postcards through our red letter box.
Further into the week the children got to work, building a magnificent bug hotel. It was not your average bug hotel…. It was a GIANT bug hotel. The children worked together as a team to carry large logs and sticks across the forest to add to the pile to form the hotel. Other children were tasked with finding guests for our hotel. We had lots of guests checking in, including wiggly worms, woodlice, slugs and beetles. We cannot wait to see if other guests have checked in over the coming weeks.
Clay modelling has been a huge highlight for us this week. The children have enjoyed seeing what they can create using forest materials to enhance their creations. We have had some wonderful cakes, pancakes, volcano islands and even some kebabs!
We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay and play sessions this week as we love showing the parents what we get up to on a daily basis. We hope you all have a restful weekend and we will see you all next week for more adventures :)
