Booooo…Boooo…Boo! The forest was a spook-tacular sight this week. The children used their fine motor skills to paint the scariest ghosts Putney Heath has ever seen. To begin the activity, the little ones ventured off on a leaf hunt. Leaves of all sizes were found, and a variety of different colours as well. Although the leaves were autumnal colours, the children used white and black paint to create little ghosts. Ghastly sounds could be heard throughout the forest all day.
The little Halloweenies came dressed to impress on the last day of October. Some opted for witch costumes while others dressed as their favourite superheroes. The children loved showing off their outfits! In the forest, the little ones had their faces painted, carved pumpkins and made lots of potions. Their favourite concoction was the “teacher potion!”
Although Halloween had finished, the Little Forest Folk-ers searched for bats and spiders hidden throughout the camp. The children used teamwork and determination to collect all the creepy crawlers they could find. Once they were all discovered, the little ones worked together to match the pairs together.
With the high winds from Storm Ciarán, the children spent a bit of time indoors this week. This didn’t stop the fun, though! The Little Forest Folk-ers spent some time back at our clubhouse but also managed to squeeze in an adventure walk to the meadow. When they reached the meadow, the children kicked the football about and looked for rabbits who might be hiding in their holes.
Throughout the week, the children have also focused on community helpers. They have channelled their inner doctors, firefighters, nurses and teachers. As well as this, each day, a ladder has been constructed - which has provided the perfect opportunity to climb! The children have loved showing off their strength and bravery when climbing to the top!
Another week has come and gone here at Putney Heath! The little ones have quite a lot of festive and cultural events to look forward to during November. All of the staff at Putney Heath cannot wait to share the fun with you and your families.
