Holiday Camp in Full Swing
It has been a pleasure to welcome many familiar faces as well as new friends to our forest this week for holiday camp. Many children have enjoyed having their older siblings on camp to share their adventures with!
We have had a very active week in Putney Heath. The children have challenged their gross motor skills on a very big obstacle course, which they kept altering and risk assessing as the day went on. The swing was a strong favourite throughout the week too. The children have shown great independence in turn taking with the help of an hourglass.
A few treasure hunts were set up this week, which saw the children turning into clever detectives who managed to solve mysteries by locating and solving the clues.
On many afternoons the children have gone on big adventure walks. One of them also involved some litter picking. The children were really pleased to show how much they managed to pick up from the forest once back on camp.
On the fine motor skills side the children have enjoyed making models with clay and making heart necklaces for their loved ones. One afternoon, while the children were playing with the cars on the planks, they decided they also needed parking spots for their cars. Some children practiced their mark making and knowledge of numbers to write numbers on the different parking spots and assign them to different cars.
We look forward to welcoming back our friends that were on holiday next week and can't wait to see what adventures will come our way.
