Icy adventures
We have had a fantastic week here at Putney Heath, exploring the icy wonders of the forest. The mornings have been magical, stepping onto the fresh, icy cricket pitch and watching as the ice glistened in the sun.
We have had an array of wonderful activities this week including our very own forest post office. The children had the opportunity to write and draw on their own postcards and post them through the letterbox. This engaged the children phenomenally, allowing them to explore the idea of enclosing items and finding ways to retrieve them.
We have also been enjoying our dance parties in the forest this week, to help get the warmth travelling around our body. We have been dancing to the ‘wiggle dance’, ‘let it go’ and many more interactive songs. The children displayed such confidence as they showed off their dance moves to everyone and we certainly kept warm!
We ended the week with some marvellous mark making with some of our large tyres. The children used paint brushes to paint over the tyres ready to roll on a big piece of paper. The children worked together to carefully roll the tyres along the paper to create some wonderful tracks, ready for a car themed day.
We hope you all have a restful weekend and we look forward to seeing you all next week for more adventures.
