This week at our forest nursery has been a colourful and creative journey, as our little explorers immersed themselves in various activities amidst the beauty of the outdoors. The week kicked off with an explosion of colours as the children delved into an exciting experiment using pipettes and food dye. With keen focus and enthusiasm, they concocted a vibrant array of hues.
Our Little Forest Folk-ers embarked on a culinary adventure in our mud kitchen, scouring the camp for pine cones, sticks, and other natural treasures to craft their own recipes. Sharing was the name of the game as there were a select number of buckets and spoons. As the week unfolded, the mud kitchen transformed into a bustling scooping and pouring station, with tons of imaginative play and sensory exploration. The children even created their own habitats for the dinosaurs and other small world creatures.
Amidst the busy forest, clay became a canvas for endless creativity. Armed with tools and natural materials, the children sculpted and shaped- bringing their imaginative visions to life. The clay was transformed into paint which gave the little ones another opportunity to express themselves. With paint brushes in hand, the children transferred the clay to paper- it was magical! Meanwhile, our Little Forest Folk-ers embarked on a journey of self-discovery, crafting self-portraits adorned with personal touches and symbols of love. Lots of mummies, daddies and siblings were spotted in the drawings too.
Despite the heavy rainfall that graced our camp, the spirit of adventure and exploration remained undeterred. Our little ones gleefully splashed and stomped in the vast muddy puddles. Additionally, they ventured beyond the camp with litter pickers in hand, demonstrating their commitment to the preservation of our precious heath.
Have a wonderful weekend!
