We have had a wonderful week here at Putney Heath, full of adventures, activities and fun and we would love to share these with you.
We began the week with a fantastic physical challenge that the children tackled very well. One of our educators set up a rope step ladder and the children were eager to try and climb up to the very top, and this is exactly what they achieved. Listening carefully to the guidance from the educator assisting, the children used their super strength to pull themselves up to the top. The children were very proud of themselves and wanted to show everyone their achievements!
We had a bubble party further into the week and the children had the opportunity to make their own bubble wands in the tool area. The children used the loppers to cut off a small branch and then they attached some garden wire to the end of the stick in a circle shape. After the wands were ready, the magic began. Using some pre-made bubble mixture the children carefully dipped their wands in and blew bubbles that filled the camp. It was such a fantastic activity which the children thoroughly enjoyed.
Towards the end of the week, we embarked on a very exciting adventure to the pond. We were keen to see if the tadpoles we observed about a month ago had grown. Once we arrived at the pond, we were all pleasantly surprised to see hundreds of larger tadpoles swimming around! An educator carefully scooped some tadpoles into a clear jug, so we were able to observe some of the tadpoles more closely. With this, we could see that their bodies had grown, and we observed how they used their tails to swim along. We are excited to visit the pond again soon to see how the tadpoles have grown further!
What an absolutely fantastic week we have had here at Putney Heath. We hope you enjoy the bank holiday weekend and we will see you all on Tuesday for more adventures.
