Our first full week back in the forest! The air was frosty, the ground was “icy & crunchy” & the children were bundled up all warm in fluffy scarves, hats and gloves.
The focus we had for our week was emotions so we jumped straight back into our zones of regulation. The children have pinpointed the colour they were feeling in the morning, which is represented by the different colour monsters. “I go on green because I feel calm today”. Alongside this our adventurers got to use a diagram where they could highlight where they feel their emotions in their bodies.
Later in the week some of our little explorers helped Kitz bring the sign we made in Autumn back out to add a protective seal to it. Many of the children took turns and selected which plank they wanted to paint the seal on and during this time we spoke about lots of different places from our favourite stories. “Narnia is an another world hidden within a wardrobe” “do our clothes live in Narnia?” A lot of patience and teamwork went into this activity amongst the children, and it was lovely to see how well they communicated with one another.
Although it was a chilly one, it was such a lovely welcome back into the forest for our sessional children. We hope you have a wonderful weekend!
