The first sights of spring are being thoroughly enjoyed by all of our Little Forest Folk-ers! We have been welcoming in the holiday campers this week, to join us with our creative and adventurous activities.
Early in the week, Forest Educator Bridie had prepared an Easter activity! Children were invited to paint a paper egg, talking about the different colours, textures and materials they were using, as well as all the different animals which come from eggs. They made such beautiful Easter decorations!
Later in the week, the children loved to join our yoga activity. Our lovely new educator Vicky helped them to follow a yoga story. The Little Forest Folk-ers did an amazing job by stretching their hands and legs in the most impressive ways, and remained calm and thoughtful the whole time. We are glad to see how beneficial these activities are, sharing mindfulness and emotional awareness is so nice for the children and educators together!
At the end of the week, the children were invited to make their own paper bunny with Maria. We cut out bunny ears and circles for their heads and our creative explorers used PVA glue to glue the bunny ears to the circle. They then decorated with buttons for eyes and lots of sparkles. At the end we glued a pom-pom for the tail.
As well as this, we have been searching for the hidden eggs around the forest left by the Easter Bunny! Once we found them, the children decorated them with paints, pens, and of course…mud!!
Happy Easter weekend to everyone!
