Our week in the Fulham forest has been fun - it’s been a cold one but our children have not let that dampen their moods. We’ve had the most amazing time this week basing camp around the story ‘Handa’s Surprise.’
We started off the week with a great food activity, where the children got the opportunity to prepare and make their own fruit kebabs. This was a lot of fun and our little chefs were having great discussions about which fruit was their favourite. Along with this some great patterns were created by doing some colourful apple printing to make beautiful patterns on our paper and we made some really cool-looking fruit eye masks.
After being inspired by some African-style music we listened to on the speaker, we decided to make some of our own tunes using some musical instruments. We created our own band and wrote our own songs - The X Factor hasn’t a patch on us Fulham forest bunch 😎🥁🎶
It was nice watching our children get super creative with clay this week. We set ourselves the task of making some clay pots and our Little Forest Folk-ers foraged some other good resources to use as decoration to make our pots look even more amazing such as some hay and twigs!
We finished of the week with a Winnie the Pooh day and the wonderful workers and volunteers of the palace showed the children the bee huts in the gardens and gave a little talk to our children about the bees 🐝
We then went over and saw the chickens and had the wonderful opportunity to see them up-close, as one of the workers brought one over for us to stroke.
What a wonderful ending to a great week in our forest, I wonder what’s going to happen next week….
