Fulham - Fun Experiments, Art Activities and Nature Observations!

What a fantastic start to Holiday Camp season, where we have welcomed lots of new children into the forest for the coming weeks - some experienced holiday campers, some sessional children who can’t get enough of the forest, and some fresh new faces that have been a pleasure to meet! 🌳

This week we have been having plenty of ‘adventure days’. These are a regular occurrence when the light, sunny weather pushes a bit too far to the hot and sweaty side, which can certainly be said for this heatwave of a week! ☀️ We have been starting our days heading to Bishops Park, where we find a lovely, shaded tree which is quite breezy in the early morning. We sit and recite our rules of camp life, where our full timers have helped teach the newbies all about the ways of the forest. Holiday campers have even started to remember and recall these rules and are eager to share them around the morning circle.

We’ve chased the shade and set up some fun experiments, art activities and nature observation tasks whilst in our morning play session, before heading to the Bishops Tree in the Palace for some yummy dinner. Full timers have been excitedly sharing how much they love our popular bean soup and have been eager for their new friends to try it! 🫘

As our afternoons heat up, we’ve had plenty of ice play and even seen the paddling pool on site a few times. We’ve had delicious healthy lollipops by freezing some sliced melon in the freezer for a frozen treat. We’ve also ensured children have had multiple suncream applications, water breaks and sun hats to ensure everyone is keeping safe in the higher temperatures! ☀️

What a lovely week, we hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
