With the arrival of spring, our forest comes alive with new wonders and adventures waiting to be discovered! As the weather warms up and the sun filters through the trees, we're shedding our winter layers and embracing the beauty of the season.
🌼 Easter Egg Making 🌼
We kicked off the week by honing our fine motor skills with a delightful Easter egg-making activity. Using pink flower petals and clay, we crafted unique and colourful eggs, adding a touch of springtime magic to our forest sanctuary.
🏃 Obstacle Course Extravaganza 🏃
With planks, tires, and hoops scattered throughout the forest, our little adventurers tackled an exciting obstacle course. They not only practised their balancing skills but also unleashed their creativity by designing their own obstacle challenges!
🎨 Mud Painting Masterpieces 🎨
Who says mud is just for splashing in puddles? We unleashed our inner artists by painting with mud on a white canvas sheet, creating our very own earthy masterpieces. From muddy handprints to abstract swirls, our forest was transformed into an outdoor art gallery!
🛠️ Tool Crafts and Nature Creations 🛠️
Armed with peelers, we delved into the world of woodworking, peeling elder wood to create rustic crafts. Meanwhile, sticks and leaves became the building blocks for our very own forest people, while pebbles and sticks came together to form a charming clock with nature's touch, for the mouse that went up the hickory dickory clock!
🪇 Melodic Music Fun 🪇
We created our very own musical instruments: shakers and drums to play along to our good morning song and our forest school rules song! Using lentils for shakers and wooden planks and sticks for a drum, the children played melodic tunes!
🌳 Enchanting Adventure Walks 🌳
As we wandered through the forest, we embarked on exhilarating adventure walks. From climbing small trees, to crossing over bridges to greet the ducks and swans, we revelled in the beauty of spring, surrounded by blooming daffodils and magnificent magnolias.
🐜 Exploring Mini Beasts 🐜
Armed with magnifying glasses, we set out on a mini-beast hunt, scouring the forest floor for worms, ants, and beetles. We also ventured into the realm of fungi, searching for different types of mushrooms and researching their fascinating names.
🌍 Caring for Our Forest Home 🌍
In our quest to be stewards of the environment, we dedicated time to look after our forest home. Through litter picking and recycling efforts, we demonstrated our commitment to preserving the beauty and integrity of our beloved natural playground.
