Chiswick - leaf angels

This week in the forest we have been taking part in anti-bullying week by talking all about being kind to everyone, including our friends and educators. We spoke about all our different emotions and what different actions can make us feel as we made leaf angels and made faces on them in the mud. We spoke about how the leaf angels felt and we looked to see if we could see any that were sad and thought about what we could do to cheer them up. We read some stories about friendship and kindness, and the children have been taking turns independently this week in their play, being extra special helpers to the educators and have been giving so many cuddles to their friends.

We moved camps this week and found a really exciting den in our camp! Our den has been turned into a different place each day. It has been a bus where all the children sang ‘The Wheels on the Bus’, and they pretended to fix the bus too, changing the wheels as they copied the educators changing the wheels on our trolleys. We have also had a music box den where we were singing all our favourite songs and making lots of noise with all the instruments and banging all the pots and pans with sticks. And finally, our den has been a secret base! The children were using the binoculars to look out of it to spy on the educators and catch them to put them in the pretend jail.

We have also been magicians this week, exploring different colour changes with our magic paint brushes as we mixed all the colours together. The children explored patterns and the magic of the marks they could create and even sandwiched the leaves together with the paint, squelching it out the sides and exploring the sensory experience. We then explored what marks we could leave with our fingers and hands and would compare who had the bigger and smaller handprints.

We hope you have had a lovely week too; we cannot wait to see what next week brings and have lovely weekends!
