Glitter and graduations
As the last week of holiday camp comes to an end, we say goodbye to not only our lovely campers but also the remaining Little Forest Folk veterans that we are sending off to big school. Needless to say, this week at Chiswick has been filled with heartfelt goodbyes and see you laters.
Our week started with welcoming both new friends and new educators into our camp - we gave our warmest Forest welcome by showing them how to create the muddiest of mud using our new kitchen wear that was kindly donated to us by a new forest family!
A magic lamp was found amongst our new gifts and guess what…it had a genie inside it! In true spirits of Disney’s Aladdin, we all rubbed it to make a wish (but shh, our wishes are secret!).
We practiced our gross motor skills with both traversing and a slack line! The slack line soon turned into a wobbly plank for our pirates to walk across, perfectly fitting in with our new “Stinky Pirate” song that we been learning this week.
Music and art have been big contributors to the smiles across our foresters this week, with our new Deputy Manager Jay showing us her art skills on both paper and our faces - painting children and our educators into all kinds of fun and colourful animals! She brought in an amazing book about all the mushrooms we can see (but not touch) in our forest, and we were all mesmerised by all hundreds of different kinds of fungi we can spot and learn about.
When we weren’t building pirate ships or had our hands elbow deep in mud cakes, we were taking a relaxing snooze in our hammock - a well-deserved rest if we say so ourselves!
As this is our last week of summer Holiday Camp for this year, we have said bye to all our beloved holiday campers who go back to their big schools - we can’t wait to see you all again at half term!
Last week of summer holiday also means last week of our big children that go off to the new adventures of big school. We are all so proud of you and we are going to miss you so much! Thank you for all the laughter and puddle jumping you have brought us, and for teaching our new children how to make the most out of our forest, all year round no matter what the weather brings. We’re also saying bye to Xiao who has been with us all summer as he goes back to manage Twickenham - thank you for all your magical storytelling and amazing skills you’ve taught us.
We hope you have all had an amazing summer and we’re so excited for the new term to start. We hope you all have a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend and see you all soon!
Joke of the week:
Do you know what’s inside Aladdin’s lamp?
It would take a genie-us to find out!
