Our Week in the Forest...
This week we took a trip to the allotment where there were delicious yellow tomatoes for us to taste! It was very surprising for some of us to see tomatoes that were a different colour but they tasted amazingly good!
We started learning a new skill this week – skipping! With a long rope and two educators to swing it, we practiced jumping over the rope. A very difficult skill to learn but we saw incredible perseverance as the children returned to practice again and again, some to jump over the rope for the first time, others to beat their previous count, reaching as high as nine jumps in a row!
Our forest has been filled with lots of crafty endeavours this week as we have painted leaves, then used them to decorate our forest by tying them to string which we hung from the trees. We have also practiced our knot tying skills this week as we created our own bow and arrows and built some cool dens.
At the end of the week, with superhero capes draped around the forest, the children donned their alter egos and the forest abounded with superhero role play, some of the children even showed us their superhero poses!
We hope you all have had a lovely week too and have a fantastic weekend!
