Chiswick - Flying dinosaurs

This week in the forest started off really sunny and warm but has now turned into crisp Autumn weather. We have learnt all about fog and mist and have been able to explore dew and frost with the children in all parts of the forest.

We have had dinosaurs take over the forest each day and they have even been getting on trains they have made with logs and then travelling all around the forest. We’ve visited the waterfall, and, on our travels, we have been thinking about what might be behind different doors and gates. We now have some very magical gates in our forest that turn educators into children or flying dinosaurs.

We have also been getting very messy and creative with lots of leaf painting and large-scale tarp painting. The children created firework pictures with all the bright colours on them and have been using lots of descriptive words for them. We have also been singing all week our favourite firework song which the children enjoy joining in, pretending to be each of the different fireworks.

We have been exploring all the different ways we can use our tree stump in our camp. We have been climbing on it and jumping off which has been a firm favourite for the children but we have also used it as a table for arts and crafts as well as the perfect leaning post for logs and ramps which we can use to race cars and trains down. We have also discovered lots of insects around the stump that we have talked about hiding within it.

We hope you all have had a lovely week too and hope you have a relaxing weekend!
