Chiswick - fluffy pancakes

This week we’ve celebrated fluffy pancakes to brilliant books and wonderful wildlife!

On pancake day, our mud kitchen was at full capacity, serving pancakes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner alongside alphabet mud pies. It was also the day known as the feast of Welsh Saint David, so we explored and practised saying common phrases in Welsh with some help from one of our little friends!

World book day took place on Thursday, some of the children celebrated by dressing as their favourite book characters such as Harry Potter! As part of book day some of the children even made their own stories. They drew pictures whilst our educators wrote down what the children were saying to piece together a short story book.

At Little Forest Folk we always celebrate the little bugs and wild creatures, but on Thursday we really did take a moment to appreciate their beauty and how much of a vital life source they are to our planet in World Wildlife Day! We read classic books such as The Jungle Book. We also showed the children pictures of endangered animals!

Our adventures during the beginning of the week involved trying to use natural materials such as logs to help build bridges around camp to cross the muddy rivers. By the end of week, we decided to ramp up our adventurers and create a slack line over a small ditch which of course had snapping crocodiles below!

Hope you have a wonderfully wild weekend!
