Chiswick - Collecting conkers

Another wonderful week gone just like that! Can you believe it? This week was recycling week for us at Chiswick. We made robots out of old cereal boxes and toilet rolls, tote bags out of old t shirts, built road tracks out of cardboard and even went on an adventure walk and collected so many conkers. We are sure that there must have been over 100!

This week we also practiced our fine motor skills by using some thread and straw, making different colourful shapes! The children made all kinds of shapes, and their precision was beyond impressive. We were so proud. The children also made their self-portraits using a paper plate, and our forest school resources to draw themselves! For example, they found some stones to make their eyes, a stick for their body, and leaves for their hair. They loved this activity, and we will continue to explore this.

We also had our super bouncy slack line out in the forest today, and the swing! They love to swing through the forest, seeing the leaves and trees around them. They are so good at waiting for their turn and encouraging their friends.

Did you know we also had a library at our forest this week? That’s right! We had a variety of lovely books hung on a piece of string surrounded by fairy lights. It was so magical. We cannot wait to see what our little adventurers get up to next week! Have a fantastic weekend everyone!
