What a short but enjoyable week we had in the forest! We have loved welcoming the holiday campers for week 1 of fun and seeing faces old and new for lots of fun adventures!
We have enjoyed some dry, warmer weather this week and can feel that Spring has finally sprung!
We have enjoyed some beautiful adventure walks and noticing the changes in the forest that Spring has brought with it; wild bluebells were spotted dotting up at various places on the common, bringing pops of colour and joy to our walks.
On one of our walks, we took our water container down to Caesars Well to fill it up with water. Water that would then be taken back to our mud kitchen for the best mud pies that we could make! One mud pie became so large, it was re-labelled a birthday cake, as some of the holiday camp children went in search of “forest candles” …aka sticks!!
Also this week, our little artists have enjoyed creating some wonderful water colour paintings, from flowers to aliens, we have covered a broad horizon of artwork, there is definitely something very therapeutic about painting in nature.
Educator Dan helped the children to create a large stick house in the forest too, we found some branches that were lying dormant, and tied them together with paracord. This has helped adapt forest roleplay even further, as it has been used as a play house and an ice cream shop already!
We hope you have a great weekend and we shall look forward to holiday camp part 2 next week!
