Another forest week flew past, and we have thoroughly enjoyed welcoming back some of our holiday camp alumni to our sessions this week. Old friendships ignited amongst the trees is something to feel very grateful for.
New friendships have also begun to form, as some of our new settling children are gradually getting more used to forest life. We’ll look forward to helping these children build upon the foundations of this next week!
At the start of the week, it was chilly, and by Tuesday, the wild winds had halted forest fun on the common, so we headed inside for some safer play opportunities, this was after we had our morning stroll up onto what we call “the open plain,” an area of grassland with no trees overhead.
In the afternoon, Educator Simon brought some clay out to play, all sorts of cool things were made by our clay modellers, from snails to a snowman!
We were grateful to be able to get back outdoors on Wednesday and embraced the warmer weather each day!
On Thursday, Educator Dan had built a tunnel in the forest with a tarpaulin, many different games were played, but a keen favourite was re-enacting the classic story of “Three Billy Goats Gruff” with Jamie being the troll under the bridge!!!
We hope you all have a great weekend and look forward to more forest adventures next week!
