Our Week in the Forest...
Through the rain, sun and wind, the children have been brilliant this week and have made the most of the natural wonders that are so unique to this late summer/early autumn period of the year.
Acorns and blackberries were making up the main crop for the children’s collection and there were jams, paints and concoctions a-plenty when the children started getting really creative with these unusual ingredients.
Mushrooms have been popping up everywhere too and these have been a point of fascination for our regular Little Forest Folk-ers and holiday campers! Using identification books and charts, the children have managed to spot both edible and poisonous varieties of fungus (keeping at a safe distance of course) and have been proud to share their knowledge of the dangerous ones to ensure that all their friends stay safe in the forest.
We hope you too have had a wonderful week and have lovely weekends everyone!
