Wimbledon - Pirate Ships and Roaring Dinosaurs

With the warmer weather we have been able to explore more sat down craft activities. This week we have had big success with purple play dough! It was a great texture to squish in our fingers and mould into lots of different shapes. The children also used cookie cutters to print patterns in their playdough and used natural ingredients such as sticks and leaves to decorate. What an excellent way to bring the natural world around us in to play.

We have had a continuation of our trips out this week and more children headed to the farm and natural history museum. It has been such an adventure heading out with the little ones to explore the world outside of the forest and using public transport. On Monday some children took the underground, it was fascinating watching trains pass and learning about how they work. Soon these experiences influenced the Little Forest Folk-ers imagination and play this week has been all around transport, dinosaurs and being pets.

When we got into the forest this week a pirate ship had appeared on the meadow! The bunnies and foxes ventured out and began exploring the ship. They worked together to lift the sail of the ship, row with the oars and walk the baddie pirates off the plank. What amazing use of imagination!

A brilliant week in Wimbledon forest, we hope you all have a lovely restful weekend!
