Wimbledon - Pancake day, Carnival and World Book Day

Pancake day, Carnival and World Book Day all in one week means lots of fun in the forest!

We started off the week by enjoying Pancake Day with banana pancakes cooked on the forest fire! The children all had a turn in adding the ingredients, mixing everything together and then watching them cook in front of their eyes. They also helped with the fire by finding the sticks that we needed to get it going. Everyone loved having their treat with their friends and we even added some honey on top!

The week then got even more colourful and exciting by celebrating all things Carnival! We had forest games such as ‘Tin can alley’, ‘Hook a fish’ and lots of colourful painting. It was lovely adding some bright colours to the forest as well as having the glorious sunshine that we have welcomed this week!

Towards the end of the week we had World Book Day which meant lots of activities based around some of our favourite stories. We had Gruffalo crumble in the mud kitchen, dress up for ‘Hospital Dog’, feelings puppets for “The Colour Monster’ and hook a fish for “Fidgety Fish”. There were so many different games that everyone could enjoy.

It has been an amazing week in the forest with the spring sunshine paying a very welcomed visit, sweet treats and amazing activities!
