Wimbledon has been full of excitement and fun this week as we prepare for the festive season!
The children have spent time making various decorations, everything from mini Christmas trees to spiral pipe cleaner decorations. The children have also been practicing their fine motor skills when making their decorations by using pipe cleaners to thread through tiny little holes. These became the tinsel on the mini trees, or they were spiralled round cardboard tubes to make other decorations.
We have also been getting the forest ready for a break by making sure our bug hotel is ready for our time away. The children have spent time finding different items that we can use to put in the bug hotel to keep it warm. We used shredded straw, some recycled cardboard and logs to make the space nice and cosy for the bugs. It clearly worked as we also saw a little mouse in there!
We have also spent lots of time looking for reindeer food (lichen) and even trying to spot any signs of Father Christmas around us. Some children saw some muddy foot prints and other spotted some lights in the sky! All very exciting!!
It’s been a busy week with lots of fun and exciting activities, and now we are on the count down to the festive time ahead!
