Our Week in the Forest...
What a glorious week in the forest we’ve had. The weather has been beautiful and so the meadow has been our home base this week, with so much to explore and discover.
On Monday, our Little Forest Folk-ers enjoyed building a fire together. With the help of the educators they took turns putting sticks safely on to help keep it going which they were very excited to do. Once the fire was going and keeping us warm, we surprised the children with some hot chocolate! We warmed our tummies and our toes at the same time and felt re-energised to get back to playing.
We had lots of fun playing with the parachute this week, too. Most of the children were involved and together we cooperated in making the parachute move slowly, move fast and also move up and down. We enjoyed running under it and jumping in it. The team work was lovely and collaboration had all of the children cheering and laughing.
Worms were everywhere this week, and the children loved finding them and making them new homes. Our Little Forest Folk-ers used sticks to drill holes deep into the ground, hoping they would make the worms life a little easier - how very kind! The children were gentle with the worms, respecting their existence and ensuring they were in a safe spot, away from running feet.
Adventures walks also took place every day this week. The forest is rapidly changing before our eyes as it continues to get colder. The forest is littered with beautifully coloured leaves and the children find wonder and awe in the colours of each and every one of them as we walk around the common. We observed squirrels, molehills, footprints, rabbit holes, mushrooms and so much more. We love to adventure walk!
Wishing you a wonderful weekend, see you next week!
