The children started their week by making food for the birds. In an activity run by Anamika and Lucy, the children used vegetable suet, bird seeds and a bit of water. It was a hands-on activity where our little explorers poured some water on the suet to mix and fold together. After, they grabbed a handful and sprinkled some bird seed onto it. Then, they rolled, squeezed and moulded their bird feed balls into shape, using both hands to eventually attach it to a stick like a wand! The activity just kept on giving too as they were able to watch the birds fly down to eat their creations!
We’ve also had an active week too, with the slack line and obstacle course being very popular! The children use their balance skills gained from the course to challenge themselves on the slack line, because if any of you have tried a slack line before, you will agree that it is the next step up in physical challenges! Arron even added a further twist on this activity by turning the slack line into a spider web! The children focussed tremendously to step up and weave in and out of the diagonal lines, whilst having lots of fun at the same time!
Finally, this week we have been preparing for our winter party where our little adventurers and their families come to celebrate the festive season. The children have been working hard to create some beautiful decorations for the party! Carrie and Carla organised a candy cane decorating activity and invisible mark-making. The magic really came alive, and everyone had a wonderful time in the craft area!
What a wonderful week, we hope you all have lovely weekends!
