As we officially enter the festive period, the children were definitely getting into the Christmas spirit last week, our theme was all about "Getting ready for Christmas". It was a really fun and creative week, the children explored all different kinds of Christmas decorations and there was lots of talk about how everyone gets ready for Christmas at home.
The children spent time finishing off their Christmas cards and they also decorated our imagination Christmas tree. They went on the hunt to find natural decorations in the forest and also made their own beautiful decorations with plenty of red paint, glitter and ribbon. And the end result is above, the Little Forest Folk Christmas tree looking very bright and festive!
Other activities last week included singing Christmas songs and of course our much loved weekly cookery class. And there was great excitement and anticipation leading up to the main event of the week... the Little Forest Folk Christmas Party!
There was festive arts and crafts, face painting and marshmallow toasting to keep the children entertained and lots of mulled wine, hot chocolate and scrumptious cakes to keep the mums and dads warm and happy. And of course there was the main man himself...Santa! And his elf helper:) The children looked as though they thoroughly enjoyed their time with Santa, there was lots of giggles at his story and lovely singing- who knew Santa could sing so well?
A big thank you to all who came and made it such a special event, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we all did! :-)
