Putney Heath - Puppet Shows

We ended last week with Stay and Play and what a wonderful way this was to end our fantastic week! The children enjoyed experimenting with different sounds in the music area using our shiny new boom whackers and other wonderful musical instruments.

After a lovely long bank holiday weekend, we got straight back into some amazing creative activities. The children began the new week making some magical wands and rainbow ribbons, wrapping their own choice of coloured yarn around some sticks. The children used careful and precise motor skills to wrap the yarn around and helped to tie knots to secure it.

As we headed further into the week, we were lucky enough to have our very own forest TV show to watch. The children were fantastic actors on our TV show and used puppets as props to support their funny, magical, and interesting stories. The children showed great confidence and powerful performance skills, and we had the most AMAZING time watching them all.

Whilst others enjoyed the TV show, a few of the other children engaged in a super shape aiming game. The aim of the game was to throw small balls into the holes of the different shapes on the cardboard. The children were fantastic and came up with the idea that they had to shout out the name of the shape before trying to aim the ball through!

Towards the end of the week, we were once again astounded by the performance skills of our Little Forest Folk-ers in our forest puppet show. We created a wonderful, colourful puppet show area and the children once again worked together to create some awesome stories for us all to watch and listen to.

We have had such a wonderful week here at Putney Heath and we wish you all a restful weekend!
