We hope all families had a delightful Mother’s Day celebration this past weekend! The children were thrilled to share stories about their Mums and other special people in their lives, spreading love all around the forest.
This week, our little adventurers embarked on an exciting pirate-themed journey. With the camp transformed into a treasure cove and X marking the spots for hidden treasures and other precious gems, the children embraced their inner pirates with enthusiasm. They crafted vessels using slack lines and ropes, sailing across imaginary seas with glee. To incorporate recycling, the little ones repurposed cardboard and bottle caps to create their own ships to take home. Eye patches were donned, swords were decorated, and gold coins were minted. The forest was filled with bounty!
Despite the heavy rains, our resilient explorers revelled in the wet weather, splashing and jumping in every puddle they encountered. Their spirits remained undamped as they delved into the earth, digging and searching for worms and other mini beasts. Each creature was carefully looked after as the little ones built homes and bug hotels.
Our Little Forest Folk-ers have been learning quite a lot in their tool work sessions. This week, another skill was honed; how to use the palm drills. The Little Forest Folk-ers recalled the skills used for bow saws from last week to create more tree cookies. Once they completed their first task, they were given the opportunity to use the palm drills to craft wooden necklaces.
Thank you for another wonderful week in the forest. We look forward to more adventures and discoveries ahead!
