`Reunited Friends`
This week has been a very exciting week for all the children and educators here at Putney Heath as our two amazing camps joined as one again for the first time this year.
We began the week with a very special moment where both camps ran together on the Heath for the first time. There was so much energy and excitement and the children all enjoyed hugging their friends and educators that they haven’t been able to hug for a while! Once in the forest, the children enjoyed getting used to the new camp as there were some different boundaries and areas to play in, and they were all very excited to play together.
The beginning of the week brought us some beautiful rain showers which we love here at Putney Heath. This meant that the children had so much water to play with in the mud kitchen and the children did not waste a single drop of water dripping from the tarps using every pot and pan they could find to collect the water with. The children enjoyed making ice creams and cupcakes and used materials they found on the forest floor as toppings and yummy sauces to put on the top.
Further into the week the children embarked on a bug hunt using their magnifying glasses to see what discoveries they could find. The children worked together to move big logs and planks around the forest and found some caterpillars, worms and millipedes! The wet ground was perfect weather for a bug hunt. Thank you rain!
We ended the week in the sun with some brilliant obstacle course races and some super slack line balancing, but also not forgetting some perfectly peaceful reading time in the quiet corners of the forest.
Wow, it has been such a wonderful week, with friends reuniting and playing together, laughter and many meaningful interactions. We hope you all have a lovely Bank Holiday weekend!
