Putney Heath - Every New Friend is a New Adventure

Every New Friend is a New Adventure

The beginning of September marks a special occasion here at Little Forest Folk Putney as we welcome our new Little Forest Folk-ers and introduce them to our wonderful woodland, filled with opportunities for them to explore and flourish.

The children arrived on Wednesday feeling refreshed from their four days (or six weeks) break and ready to tackle any challenge or adventure that came their way. Before heading into the forest, the children enjoyed collecting some grass from the cricket pitch to create a beautiful bird’s nest which could make an excellent home for a magpie, crow, or parakeet which the children often see roaming around the cricket pitch.

Our Little Forest Folk-ers imaginations also ran wild as they sprinkled pixie dust amongst the trees, onto built hedgehog homes and onto their peers which allowed them all to fly across the cricket pitch, soaring alongside the crows and other birds.

In the forest, the children took on the challenge of creating their own obstacle course, taking inspiration from their educators! It was wonderful to see the children working together to move the logs from the circle, making sure the planks were well balanced to prevent any injury. The children then negotiated as to who went first to avoid any crashes whilst tackling their challenge. The beaming smiles on the children’s faces showed how proud they were of themselves when they completed their task!

We would also like to add another goodbye to our Little Forest Folk-ers who left us during the summer! We are all thinking of you as you embark on your new adventure at school, and we hope to see you soon for some more forest fun during holiday camps.

To all our families, past, present, and future, we hope you all have a wicked weekend, and we look forward to seeing you soon for more wilderness wonders!
