Creative Creatures
Our Little Forest Folk-ers at Putney Heath have had another spectacular week exploring our everchanging forest.
At the beginning of the week the children enjoyed getting creative, making their own rainbow ribbons using a variety of different colours of their choice. The children thoroughly enjoyed using these during their play and reminding their friend and educators the importance of not going past the rainbow ribbons.
We also enjoyed using a variety of different objects to use paint in the forest, using our hands to mix the different colours, creating rainbow handprints! The children also used the ribbon reels to make round patterns, experimenting with positioning them in different places.
Our little explorers have also enjoyed immersing themselves within the small world. Recreating Disney with the little tigers, filling the forest with “Can you feel the love tonight” harmonies. The children have also enjoyed creating small towns using the wooden blocks, using the people to represent their own experiences in a tiny version.
They have also enjoyed experimenting with music this week, using the pans and pots as drums and listening to the sweet sounds of the xylophone as they sang ‘Twinkle, twinkle’ and ‘She’ll be coming round the mountain’. It has been lovely to see how the children have been challenging themselves to keep to the beat!
We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
