The air is filled with the delightful sounds of jingle bells and the warmth of festive cheer as our enchanted forest embraces the magic of December celebrations. This week has been a whirlwind of multicultural festivities, fostering a spirit of unity and appreciation for the diverse traditions that make up this December period.
Eight Nights of Hanukkah Magic
For the past eight days, our Little Forest Folk-ers have been immersed in the beauty of Hanukkah. Exploring the symbolism of the menorah and delving into Hanukkah stories, we've celebrated the rich tapestry of cultures that make our forest home so wonderfully diverse. Through this focus, we've discussed the importance of embracing our uniqueness.
Cracking Christmas Crafts
Our forest adventurers donned their crafting hats to create eco-friendly Christmas crackers! Using recycled materials, they carefully wrapped their creations in tissue paper, fashioned party hats, and added a touch of humour with jokes tucked inside. These handmade treasures are sure to add a special touch to the holiday festivities.
Stamped Christmas Cards with Love
Tiny hands painted with care as our children created personalised Christmas cards using stamps. Vibrantly coloured stockings, reindeer, snowmen, stars and snowflakes danced across the cards. These handmade tokens of love are destined for the mantles of loved ones.
Sensory Christmas Exploration Extravaganza
Our final festive highlight was a sensory journey through the wonders of Christmas. With playdough as our canvas, the forest came alive with the scents of cinnamon and peppermint. Exploring recycled wrapping paper with varied textures, baubles, fake snow, ribbons, and candy canes, our little ones discovered the joy of touch, sight and smell. We delved into discussions about family traditions, sharing the heartwarming ways we celebrate with our loved ones.
Have a happy and restful weekend everyone!
