What an adventurous week we have had here at Putney Heath!
We began the week with some great fun at camp, the children enjoyed swinging as high as they could on the forest swing, and having a wonderful time experimenting with different ways that they could twist and turn whilst doing so.
Towards the middle of the week, we were welcomed with some beautiful snow and our adventurers were delighted to see a white wonderland on the cricket pitch. Everyone enjoyed making snowballs to throw around and splashing in the slushy puddles. On camp, our Little Forest Folk-ers enjoyed keeping warm by dancing and practicing their balancing by walking along the wobbly slackline.
Towards the end of the week, we embarked on some exciting adventures. The highlight of these was most certainly our trip to the pond. Here the children enjoyed watching nature around the pond whilst eating their snacks. After snack, an educator carefully scooped some water out of the pond in a clear jug. The children watched as the baby tadpoles swam around the water, and we spoke about the life cycle of a frog. As we were studying the tadpoles a big Heron flew by and landed close to where we were standing! It was incredible to watch the Heron in its natural habitat.
We have had an absolutely wonderful week here at Putney Heath and we cannot wait for more adventures next week :)
