Conkers!
We ended another fantastic week in the forest with some glorious rain which set us up for some perfect puddle jumping in the morning. When on camp, the children were welcomed with some incredible dens set up by one of our amazing educators. The children enjoyed hiding and playing in all the different dens.
We began the new week with an exciting adventure to find some conkers which we could use with our new favourite toy in the forest: some very long plastic tubes. Unfortunately we found that the squirrels had won the race against us and had already taken most of them. Nevertheless the children were still very excited to find very small ones hidden underneath the leaves. We also started to spot more signs of autumn, noticing all the different coloured leaves that had fallen to the ground.
Further into the week we enjoyed some creative clay modelling. The children enjoyed moulding clay faces onto trees, making cars, snakes, worms and many more exciting things. The conker fun continued and we were lucky enough to have found more conkers on the walk into the forest. The children once again enjoyed dropping the conkers into our conker ‘marble run’ and seeing how fast they came out the other end.
Towards the end of the week the creative fun did not stop! Some of the children enjoyed making their own computers and emailing Santa to get their Christmas list sent early!! The children were all very excited to see if Santa would reply to them. Sure enough, we got a call from Santa (AKA an educator) which the children were all very excited about.
We have had a wonderful week here at Putney Heath, and we cannot wait for more adventures next week. We hope you all have a wonderful weekend :)
